Sunlight maybe? Sunrise hitting house to house signals the start of the day, photons are small and weightless, sunlight is absent at night

It's a street or a road, but it kinda makes no sense because streets never sleep, and it isn't a messanger. It has messages on the side of it or over it. Plus they can also be large, not only small.
