I think at this point Reddit just wings all their decisions. They’re too deep into the embarrassment, they could never redeem themselves.

Because they know that ultimately the layuser will stay on reddit. Super sad to see, but maybe if subreddits like r/movies stay dark indefinitely it may push them to make at least some changes to their current stance.

If not and they just swap moderators, the outcry might be pretty bad.

The people using third-party apps won't be able to stay on Reddit. Not without substantially changing their habits. We're not fighting against the status quo here; the status quo is already dead and it's just a question of what emerges in its place.
