my dad was away a lot when my sister & i were young & when she had kids he was extremely awkward, like he didn't know how to properly hold a baby [supporting the head] & didn't really know how to talk to/behave around them. on the other hand, my husband hates kids but is very, very good with them.. i think because he essentially helped raise his younger brother

i find these differing experiences fascinating, maybe i'm weird haha just wondering about other people :)
