They know they are committing war crimes, and they started the war, and the invasion is illegal.
The way the old guy was smirking when he "corrected" the other guy on who declared the war was very telling. Just like nazi propaganda in the 1930s and 40s they know exactly what they are doing.
Shit like this takes a special kind of evil.
And then the US simultaneously do what they want, and never achieve any of their goals. It could be the fascist playbook of enemies both fearsome and inferior. But it might also be translation.
