About ten years ago I bought a used copy of The Rainbow by D.H. Lawrence at an English bookstore in foreign country. This month I finally got around to reading it.

All this time I've been carrying this note around from house to house and country to country.

I wonder about the story behind this note. Was it from a relationship that fell out and that's why they sold the book? Were these notes so ubiquitous between them that a single one was never missed? Did the person leave or die before they could give them the book?

Fascinating really
