We had the Six Day War in 1967, we had the Nineteen Day War (Yom Kippur) in 1973, and now we've had the Twelve Day War. I wonder how many more very short wars will plague the region until Palestine is freed?

However, moving on from Western Asia from a little while, we have some interesting news from Chile - the former labor minister and communist, Jeannette Jara, has won the primary election for the left-wing bloc in a landslide (~60% of the vote), as the current President, Gabriel Boric, is term-limited. Her achievements include a minimum wage increase and a reduction of the work week to 40 hours.

In November, Jara will face down the contenders from other parties, including José Antonio Kast, who is analogous to Brazil's Bolsonaro. Unfortunately, Jara is now the lead figure of a party that has been taking quite a few Ls under Boric's leadership. Ostensibly a Democratic Socialist, he ruled as - you guessed it - a neoliberal, bending the knee to the US and EU. He not only failed to overthrow the Pinochet-era constitution, he actually allowed the right-wing to turn the proposed new constitution into something worse, and had to settle for campaigning against the new one and keeping the old one. And he had very little solidarity with other left-leaning leaders on the continent, like Maduro, Lula, Petro, or Castillo.

With this in mind, I cannot help but look at Argentina's very recent history and feel a little dread - but if anybody can save Chile at this point, it can only be a communist.

The CPRF Congress adopted a resolution recognizing Khrushchev's report on Stalin as a mistake RBC

The issue is about recognizing as “erroneous and politically biased” the report of the First Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee on Stalin’s personality cult, which he delivered on February 25, 1956 at the 20th Congress of the CPSU

The Congress of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation adopted a resolution recognizing as “erroneous and politically biased” the report of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU Nikita Khrushchev on the cult of personality of Joseph Stalin at the 20th Congress of the CPSU, an RBC correspondent reports.

In 2016, the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov called the merits of Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin the fact that they “assembled the entire empire, built nine thousand of the best factories, gave the best social policy, essentially created nuclear missile weapons and broke through into space.” He criticized Khrushchev for trying to debunk the “Leninist-Stalinist modernization” and thereby “committed a crime against the people.”

Vologda Oblast Governor Georgy Filimonov claimed in an interview with RBC this spring that the data on Stalin's repressions were "greatly exaggerated" by Khrushchev and that they were "an instrument for strengthening power." "We need to speak about repressions in a balanced way; it was a necessary instrument for strengthening power at that time," Filimonov believes. A monument to Stalin was unveiled on the territory of the branch of the Vologda State Museum-Reserve "Vologda Exile."

In a 2017 interview with director Oliver Stone, Vladimir Putin called the “excessive demonization of Stalin” one of the ways, one of the ways of attacking the Soviet Union and Russia. It is important that political repressions do not recur in the country’s history, he said in 2023 at a meeting of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights.

In April of this year, Putin promised to consider renaming Volgograd to Stalingrad, and in the same month he named Volgograd airport "Stalingrad".

Took them 71 years.

Court said to approve mom’s request to use fallen soldier son’s sperm to have grandchild

Sharon Eisenkot permitted to use sperm of 19-year-old son Maor, Golani fighter killed in Gaza who was also nephew of ex-IDF chief Gadi Eisenkot

An Eilat court has authorized Sharon Eisenkot to use sperm retrieved from her son, IDF soldier Maor Eisenkot, who was killed in Gaza in 2023, to have a grandchild through surrogacy, according to a Channel 12 report Saturday.

The court based its ruling on testimonies showing that Maor had clearly expressed his wish to have children and had agreed to the posthumous use of his sperm, even with a woman he did not know. Sharon Eisenkot only learned of his wishes after Maor was killed in battle, through a childhood friend to whom he had confided.

The America Party is a proposed political party in the United States. It was first proposed on June 5, 2025, and announced by Elon Musk on July 5, following his feud with U.S. president Donald Trump.

Musk has stated that the America Party is focused on deficit reduction and has advocated for the party to be fiscally conservative. The New York Times's Nate Cohn stated that the party's ideology "may be recognizable by the labels its critics on both the left and right have already assigned", referring to neoliberalism and globalism, respectively. According to Cohn, it also supports deregulation, free trade, and immigration of "high-skilled" workers.

No one is going to vote for Elon Musk's party, this party literally appeals to no one but some techbros.

The Militarized Communist Party of Peru is a political party and militant group in Peru that follows Marxism–Leninism–Maoism and participates in the communist insurgency in Peru. It is considered a terrorist organization by the government of Peru. Comrade José has been the leader of the MPCP since its official creation in 2018 after its final split from the declining Shining Path guerilla group.

The MPCP has maintained contact with Andean ultranationalist groups tied with the ethnocacerist movement. In 2018, the MPCP formed an alliance with the Plurinational Association of Tawantinsuyo Reservists, an ethnocacerist group, called the United Democratic Andean Revolutionary Front of Peru.

Diverging from other Maoist parties, the MPCP has voiced support for the modern-day Chinese Communist Party and its General Secretary Xi Jinping. The group has distanced itself from the Gonzalo Thought ideology and anti-religious stance of the Shining Path.

The MPCP regards itself as a communist and Marxist–Leninist–Maoist party, though it explicitly denounces the Gonzalo Thought ideology of the original Shining Path. In 2022, it proclaimed its allegiance to the Chinese Communist Party and its leader, Xi Jinping.

In March 2022, the MPCP publicly announced their embrace of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), writing that "the militarized Peruvian communists [have] reorganized ourselves as militants of the glorious and victorious Chinese Communist Party, under the leadership of CCP general secretary Xi Jinping."

In an audio message recorded by high-ranking party member Comrade Vilma, Vilma called on the party's militants to support China against "the United States and its NATO allies through the unjust fifth super-imperialist world war" and stated that Xi and the CCP had "never abandoned Maoism."

Peru has some really strange left-wing movements. Recently, the Ethnocacerist (Left-wing Inca Ultranationalists) were winning all the electoral polls until the Supreme Court banned them. And of course White USians want to use the Ethnocacerist movement as proof that Reverse Racism/Anti-White Racism exists, ignoring the origin and the reason why such a movement exists in Peru.

Brazilian government considering cutting relations with Israel after meeting with MPs and Palestinian federation. President of the Palestinian Arab Federation in Brazil (Fepal), Ualid Rabah, comments on the meeting with Lula's special advisor, Celso Amorim: “We appreciate his vision and position”.

Amorim defends a minimal relationship with Israel and says Brazil should not accept a new ambassador by Israel due to the military offensive in the Gaza Strip and the thousands of Palestinian victims. Amorim, Lula's main advisor on international issues, also advocated that Brazil formally join the lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice.

“The correct position today, in my opinion, is for us to join as a party to South Africa's lawsuit for genocide; to keep relations [with Israel] to a minimum and to be very strict on the free trade agreement, perhaps even suspending it,” said Amorim.

Brazil: Lula denounces collapse of multilateralism at Brics summit - Prensa Latina

Article

Rio de Janeiro, Jul 6 (Prensa Latina) Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva here today strongly denounced the serious crisis of multilateralism and defended the urgent need to reform the structures of international governance.

During the session on Peace and Security, Global Governance Reform, at the XVII Brics Summit, the host leader said that the creation of the United Nations marked “the defeat of Nazi-fascism and the birth of collective hope”, but today “we are witnessing an unprecedented collapse of multilateralism”.

He pointed out that this forum in Rio is taking place in the most adverse global scenario since the founding of the UN, which celebrated its 80th anniversary on June 26.

He recalled that many of the countries that are now members of the bloc were founders of the UN and also protagonists of the Bandung Conference, which in 1955 rejected the division of the world into zones of influence and defended a multipolar international order.

He warned that the autonomy of the countries of the Global South is once again under threat.

Among the setbacks denounced were the attacks on international climate and trade regimes, the fragility of the global health system - accentuated by the Covid-19 pandemic - and the “absurd demands on intellectual property” that hinder access to medicines.

He drew attention to the unprecedented number of conflicts since World War II and the recent decision by the North Atlantic Organization (NATO) to increase military spending.

“It is easier to allocate five percent of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) to military spending than the 0.7 percent promised for Official Development Assistance,” he lamented.

He warned that the fear of a nuclear catastrophe has returned to daily life and urged not to be indifferent to the genocide practiced by Israel in the Gaza Strip, the indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians and the use of hunger as a weapon of war.

He considered that the only possible solution to the conflict is “the end of the Israeli occupation and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders”.

Once again, he reaffirmed Brazil's commitment to peace and dialogue and, despite the alarming scenario, acknowledged the historical advances of multilateralism, such as the decolonization process and the prohibition of chemical weapons.

He again referred to international governance that does not reflect the new multipolar reality of the 21st century and that it is up to the Brics to contribute to its updating.

In this regard, he proposed a profound transformation of the UN Security Council, with the inclusion of new permanent members from Asia, Africa and Latin America.

"It is more than a question of justice. It is a question of ensuring the very survival of the UN," he stressed.

Cuba does not give up: Díaz-Canel thanks Brazilian solidarity - Prensa Latina

Article

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Jul 6 (Prensa Latina) Cuba will not surrender, President Miguel Díaz-Canel assured today during an emotional meeting here with the solidarity movement with the island in Brazil, in the context of the XVII Brics Summit.

In a crowded room of a Rio de Janeiro hotel and visibly moved, Díaz-Canel began his remarks with a sincere thank you.

"We want to begin by deeply thanking you for all the solidarity you have given us. The campaigns, the donations, the accompaniment, the altruistic gesture", he said, recognizing the multiple actions of support of the Brazilian people in the face of the difficulties in his country.

Then he paused and, with a firm voice, expressed: "And now we are going to talk a little about Cuba and the conditions in which we are living, but also about the lights to overcome the problems. Because what you can be sure of, you, who are friends of the real society, is that Cuba is not going to surrender", he stressed.

The Cuban leader once again denounced the U.S. blockade, its extraterritorial nature and its intensification under the last administrations. “More than 80 percent of our population has lived all its life under this siege,” he recalled.

He also explained with political courage the causes of the collapse of the electro-energy system, with serious effects on the daily life of Cubans and economic development.

“We are hurt by the suffering of our people, but we also have the conviction that we are going to move forward,” he said.

At that point, he stressed that solidarity not only comforts, but also commits. "We cannot give up because of convictions, and we cannot give up because it would be disrespectful to you. The solidarity that you give us also commits us a lot," he stressed.

Later, in another meeting with Brazilian intellectuals, Díaz-Canel addressed cultural and political issues, and denounced the effects of cultural colonization.

He criticized the entertainment platforms that impose distorted views of reality on social networks. He called to face this offensive with unity in diversity.

He also announced an upcoming meeting with political communicators and mentioned the Colloquium Patria, as a space to think and articulate new forms of emancipating communication.

Looking to the future, he announced that next year the centenary of the birth of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, will be commemorated with a program of activities focused on the validity of his thought.

He reiterated the concept of “creative resistance”, which, he said, is based on pillars such as popular participation and national unity. “Our people will not be defeated,” he insisted.

Thus, with firmness and closeness, Díaz-Canel closed both meetings marked by emotion, commitment and the conviction that, although besieged, Cuba does not surrender.

United Kingdom restores diplomatic relations with Syria after 14 years - Prensa Latina

Article

London, Jul 6 (Prensa Latina) The British Chancellor, David Lammy, announced today the reestablishment of diplomatic relations with Syria during a historic visit to Damascus, in a turn in Western foreign policy towards this Arab country after more than a decade of conflict.

According to the Sky News portal, this is the first visit by a British minister to Syria in 14 years, following the removal in March of the Syrian Central Bank and 23 entities in the Arab nation from Western sanctions lists.

The UK has maintained a tacit recognition of the current Syrian government following the departure of Bashar al-Asad in 2023.

Lammy justified the move by pointing out that it contributes to stabilizing the region, will facilitate the fight against terrorism and will enable irregular migration to be controlled.

The UK is expected to appoint an ambassador to Damascus in the coming months and Syria is expected to gradually access international funding.

Lula received leaders at the inauguration of the Brics summit in Brazil - Prensa Latina

Article

Rio de Janeiro, Jul 6 (Prensa Latina) Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva received here the heads of state and government of the Brics member countries for the summit that begins today and ends tomorrow.

The first to arrive was Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Under the theme Strengthening Global South cooperation for a more inclusive and sustainable governance, the 17th summit will address issues such as climate, artificial intelligence (AI), multilateralism, conflicts, among others.

The forum is the main political meeting of the bloc formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, currently expanded with the accession of new countries.

Its objective is to strengthen economic, political and social cooperation among its members and to promote greater influence of the countries of the Global South in international governance.

In the last two years, the Brics has grown from five to 11 permanent members, in addition to including 10 new members.

Managing this expansion is one of the challenges facing Brazil's presidency to consolidate the multilateral cooperation mechanism that seeks to transform the current global power architecture.

The authorities present are also expected to express concerns about the escalation of protectionism and unilateral trade measures, in reference to the tariff war launched by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Brazil chose six strategic priorities for the forum: global cooperation in health, trade, investment and finance, climate change, AI governance, peace and security, and institutional development.

The meeting is also an opportunity to advance climate negotiations and commitments on environmental protection ahead of talks at the UN Climate Conference (COP30), scheduled to be held in November in Belém, capital of the northern Amazonian state of Pará.

Brazil's Workers' Party (Lula's Party) elects its new president - Prensa Latina

Article

Brasilia, Jul 6 (Prensa Latina) Brazil's ruling Workers' Party (PT) and the largest left-wing party in Latin America is holding internal elections today to decide who will be the new president of the political organization.

The first round will be held from 09:00 to 17:00, local time, and if a second round is necessary, the date set is July 20.

Four candidates are vying for the post: Edinho Silva, Romênio Pereira, Rui Falcão and Valter Pomar.

In a debate last month, the candidates warned about the need for changes in the government leadership to avoid a defeat in the 2026 suffrage, as the new helmsman will lead the PT in next year's presidential elections.

Falcão declared that the party is “on the eve of a decisive battle: the elections of 2026″ and pointed out that ”one of us will collectively lead our preparation for the battle for the reelection of President (Luiz Inácio) Lula (da Silva)".

He specified that it will be up to the new leadership “to adjust our political line, our organizational strengthening and the articulation with allies of the popular camp, in a polarized campaign”.

During the debate, Pereira, current secretary of International Relations of the PT, demanded changes in the federal administration in view of the high disapproval currently registered by Lula, according to polls. “Either the government changes or the people change,” he said.

Pomar also agreed with this assessment and called for a change in the political line of the government and the party. He acknowledged the loss of support in the social and electoral base, as confirmed by all polls.

For his part, Silva downplayed the importance of the criticisms and defended the PT's management. “This is being used against us”, he reflected.

He was of the opinion that the Government is hijacked by the National Congress, driven by the amendments.

"We no longer live in a presidential regime. Even in coalition, we see the difficulty of President Lula to govern," he alleged.

Senator Humberto Costa assumed in March the temporary command of the party in place of Gleisi Hoffmann, who was appointed Minister of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations, the portfolio that heads the political articulation of the Government with the Parliament.

Formed by militants in opposition to the military dictatorship (1964-1985), the PT was founded on February 10, 1980 by trade unionists, intellectuals, artists and Catholics linked to Liberation Theology, at the Sion College, in Sao Paulo.

Since its creation, the party has been committed to the defense of democratic socialism. The growing polarization in Brazil now demands an effort to recover spaces for dialogue and consensus.

Brazil and Vietnam strengthen ties in science and technology - Prensa Latina

Article

Rio de Janeiro, Jul 5 (Prensa Latina) Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the fields of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

The leaders met in this Brazilian city on the eve of the 17th Brics Summit, a group formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, the founding states.

Vietnam is one of the 12 partner countries of the Brics, whose leadership this year belongs to Brazil.

In a message published on social networks, Lula highlighted the recent commercial achievements reached between the two nations after the most recent bilateral meeting, which took place three months ago when he visited Vietnam.

The Brazilian leader described as excellent the current state of relations between the two countries and explained that the MOU signed on Saturday will facilitate technological exchanges, scientific cooperation and will help open new perspectives in the digital field.

Díaz-Canel arrives in Brazil to participate in Brics summit - Prensa Latina

Article

Rio de Janeiro, Jul 6 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel arrived in this city to participate in the XVII Brics Summit, which will be held today and tomorrow under the theme Strengthening the cooperation of the Global South for a more inclusive and sustainable governance.

Díaz-Canel attends for the second time, as head of state, a Brics summit. The first was in Johannesburg, South Africa, then in his capacity as president of the Group of 77 and China.

Accompanying the Cuban leader are Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, the head of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Emilio Lozada, and other authorities and officials of the Cuban Foreign Ministry.

Diplomatic circles indicated that Díaz-Canel will take part in two panels and his presence is an opportunity to hold meetings with heads of different delegations of the member countries and partners of the bloc, as well as international organizations.

The sources also pointed out that the Brics space is a moment to denounce the blockade and the aggressive policy of the U.S. government against the island. Under the presidency of Brazil, the Brics, a group formed at its creation by the South American country, Russia, India, China and South Africa, announced in January the entry of Cuba and eight other nations as partners.

These countries became part of the alliance with a status lower than that of full members, but with the possibility of participating in summits and thematic meetings.

Along with Cuba, Belarus, Nigeria, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda and Uzbekistan joined the Brics as partners. Originally, the group was formed by Brazil, Russia, India and China and had the acronym Bric. Then, as of 2010, it also included South Africa and was renamed Brics.

Negotiations for the enlargement of the group began in 2023.

At that year's summit in South Africa, the entry of six other countries was approved, including Egypt, Ethiopia and Iran.

Although it was part of that list, Argentina, after the inauguration of the ultra-right-wing Javier Milei, left the bloc.

The Brazilian presidency of the Brics began on January 1 and lasts for one year.

Overall, the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva established five priorities for discussion throughout the calendar.

Firstly, facilitating trade and investment among the countries in the group, through the development of new means of payment.

Promoting inclusive and responsible governance of artificial intelligence, and improving financing structures to address climate change.

Also, stimulating cooperation projects between countries of the Global South, with a focus on public health and institutional strengthening of the bloc.

Qassam anti-tank troops continue to deliver explosives by hand against the "IDF" armoured vehicles, this time the Merkava's ammunition suffered a cook off. Multiple angles available as well. The sheer emotion the cameraman has when his buddy returns alive after delivering the explosive is amazing too.

Absolute bravery from the palestinian fighters, there's nothing more to add really. Clearly shows how each side fights the other, while one likes to flatten the entire place with their air force and long range artillery, while going in inside their heavily armored vehicles taking zero risks, the other fights on as if they were the protagonists of a typical Hollywood war movie. But this isn't fiction: The palestinian fights like a true hero would. I can't stop but to think of Saving Private Ryan's movie, where in the last battle the US soldiers fight the SS troops up close and personal, planting explosives on the german tanks as they push into the town. In that movie, we're shown how the US soldiers are heroes for fighting that way when all odds are against them. Then again, that's a movie, and the palestinian fights like that in real life and proudly shows it as well.

Defeating the zionist monster, one hand-delivered explosive at a time.
