I'm deeply disturbed by the genocide the IDF are perpetrating in Gaza.
Aw did the mean words hurt them? Israel's actively ordering bombings of children and shootings of starving mothers. It's like saying "Death to the wehrmact"
While I agree that the chant might be a bit crass, I think it's his right to say it. He's saying the army and what it does is shit, and should suffer. I find it very discouraging that such a statement is called antisemitic. The way you frame it is exactly how I see it, it's death to the abusers, to the killers, the soldiers. It's about the violence committed by the army.
It would be as if The Andrew Sisters at a gig in 1943 shouted "Death to the wehrmacht", and people reacted with "well that's quite anti-german innit?". No it's not, it's anti Wehrmacht, just like his chant has something specifically to do with the IDF, not with Israelis.

Oh gosh, I am so sorry, nevermind.
You know what is deeply disturbing? Murdering and starving civilians, including children.
So far they have shot 14 people waiting for food today. including 3 children. this is just today, and so far.
Is this how the media would have reacted if you got on stage in the ‘40s and shouted death to Hitler?
Feel like civilians in this country are being held to higher standard for speech than a whole ass Country is being held to for its actions.
Ya but did you ever consider all the morals and values they taught the younger generations, (post boomers and most individuals who were positioned to benefit from the internet boom) was just another weapon used by capitalism? Things like the Golden Rule, protecting those weaker than ourselves, equality, love, etc were lessons those older than us had no intentions of following. They crushed their opponents and ensured no younger generation would ever be powerful enough to overthrow them.

It's an expression fgs. I care not about the feelings of Nazis. I do, however, care a lot about how far we are willing to degrade ourselves in order to defeat them.
And aside from anything else, you are just helping the enemy with this kind of utterance. Look what's happened since, it's been turned into 1) a big stick to smash the bbc with 2) calls to legislate on artistic freedoms 3) antisemitism the topic of the day everywhere again. What about 4 and 5? 4) raise awareness of the genocide 5) actually help palestinians in a more tangiable way
How did we do on 4 and 5?
Well I tell you what's a more interesting question, because if they had just said 'Free Palestine' and 'send your aid money here' or even 'stop the genocide' or something similarly not technically illegal to broadcast, then how different would 4 and 5 be to what they are now? because they'd come without the expense of 2, maybe not 3 either, and as for 1, the BBC would actually have a leg to stand on defending themselves.
So why spoil it for everyone and take two big steps backwards? How about we use language that doesn't make us sound no better than they are?

I did! Turns out I'm a real person in reality, so my options were limited.
Yeah, I'm sorry, didn't mean to come across so snarky to you, I really just wanted to rag on England (specifically)
I left the UK (not from there originally) because I didn't like it there, but I'd still move there from the USA
I never thought England was a perfect place, but at least there is something resembling a social fabric and it's possible to live car-free.
