That poster makes you think it's a lighthearted sex comedy, but the movie actually ventures into grimy exploitation territory at times.

This can be found on Tubi.

So, the girl on the poster. That appears to be a real photograph. (I know the background isn't real.) However, they've done something to her that makes the photo look unnatural. You see this kinda thing in art from the time yet not anymore. Does anybody know what's been done to it?

It’s an airbrushed trace, I think. They can be pretty realistic, but much glossier than a photo.

I think it comes down to her probably having a more than adequate amount of tan lotion on as well as it being shot on a lower quality camera than you would typically see in a production setting. Think pure budget, so that would include photo shoots as well. You could probably replicate this decently with some careful tone mapping and fuzzing it a bit to emulate cheaper film. Then add in what they call distressing(wear marks) to the overall image, and you could make something match this style pretty well. Using the tanning lotion in the modern shoot would also probably help for authenticity.

This movie was not great. It wanted to tell a good story, though.

Fun movie!

It might also still be in print on Blu Ray from Vin Syn. The website should be back up next week.
