A we saw from Piketty's "Capital", unchecked wealth inequality is a vicious cycle where the rich entrench the conditions that favour themselves. The classic non-violent remedy is democratic decision-making regarding taxes on wealth, which has been attacked for decades with propaganda and, more recently, with direct attacks on democracy.
