Weak point exposed, give scritches to tummy for massive damage(to yourself).

Not sure what you call this kind of cat but I had one for 20+ years and it was just the raddest little dude ever, made people who didn't like cats turn into cat lovers. He was just always very friendly and sociable. He could handle himself in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Had street smarts, would send dogs away yelping, was really smart, and didn't even let out a whimper that one time he came back from the vacants with his clearly broken leg draggin around.

They are called Standard issue cat

Well, this one has a white undercarriage

Don't mind that, it's from when they painted the other ceiling

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Can't believe I still didn't know that, after all these years.

The coloration is ' tabby ' -- in this case not pure tabby cuz sooo much white belly to snuggle!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

Oh, definitely heard that one a lot. Mine was almost exactly same coloring as this. Quite black and white striping and white belly too. Thanks!

Technically this breed is a domestic shorthair but my cat has the same markings and is pretty similar. Super outgoing and has zero fear but he'd yowl like hell if he broke his leg. He yowls pretty much all the time though.

His sister was tiger-striped too but orange. Yeah, he was quite communicative. Thanks for the 411!

Ceiling cat!

[–] [email protected] 24 points 6 days ago

Retile the entire ceiling in cats. Look at all those empty spots in your cat-rack.

That's pretty lucky. Years ago I was adding a ceiling fan and opened a wall in the attic to run the electrical line.

That led to meowing coming from the walls. Luckily we were able to convince her to come out an access panel in the other end of the house.

I dont think you should put them back in. Maybe alter and clean it up, leave it stylish and exposed.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 days ago

Definitely do not put the cats back in before replacing the tiles!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 days ago

Might be a sound and temperature insulation solution. Although, if so, I recommend adding some insulation material inbetween the layers.

At first glance it looks like the cat is hanging off a balcony on a really tall building.

Just cat doing cat things.

That's a structural support beemeow. Going to have to call an engineer and rework your plans.

One of my pet rats made a hole in my mattress foundation so he could climb inside. I imagine this is what he did in there.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 days ago

Twist: it’s actually been there for 6 years and long since perished lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Were the tiles stapled to the ceiling? Is that a thing?

Wow. I'd definitely rather just have a drop ceiling that's easier to maintain and I can run network cables through.
