Why delete it?

You know... the internet has a long tradition of anon the everlasting 18yo. There is not a single 30-40yo here that didn't have a MySpace page in highschool or earlier when these places all had 18+ user agreements. Admin only need plausible deniability, like don't ask don't tell. If you say you're the right age or whatnot, no one is going to dispute that. The key is just to be a decent person, don't make trouble, and don't call direct attention to your age in whatever situation. You probably should turn off porn as that is one of our main concerns and you might see some weird stuff, but let's be real, it ain't our job to tell you what to do, and you know how to find that stuff if you really wanted to anyways. Old people get all paranoid that you'll be vulnerable to some insane edge case, but that is extremely unlikely here. There is no tolerance for real weirdos here and we are so small on Lemmy that one of us will spot anything strange and say something. It can be hard to read between the lines like I am sharing now, but you are more welcome than you realize and the slight effort required is worth it for the tradeoffs in my opinion. Here on Lemmy, you get the closest experience to the internet we – your parent's age – grew up with. You deserve that same freedom. But you do you.
