My daughter is turning 12. She is very moody and with attitude at literally everything I say to her. Rolling eyes, stomping feet, sassy talking. Sarcastic responses to my questions or when I ask her to do a chore. It’s never ending. She is only nice when she wants me to do something for her or buy something. Anyways I was planning a birthday party this weekend and I gave her a warning that if she keeps it up I’m gonna cancel it. Well she kept going later in the evening with the attitude and I told her it’s cancelled and that I’m not spending a dime on a party for her.
Do you think birthdays apply to consequences? This is my first time dealing with a child in this age group and it’s getting difficult as the days goes on. I don’t want to ruin her birthday but I also don’t think it’s appropriate to spend time and money on a party if the child doesn’t show respect or is polite.
What do you think? I really need the advice.
