I(25f) love my boyfriend(26m) very very much. He was an only child and didn't have his parents there to play with him/make him feel loved. Nonetheless he has turned out to be a stunning human being. However, he has told me that he always wished , as a child, that someone would sit with him and watch him play video games. I think it's his way of healing his inner child. His friends always forced him to watch them play, but when it was his turn they all left him alone at the TV.

Now, I am also a gamer, so watching someone play is never an issue for me. BUT most of the time that he wants to play something and have me watch, I want to play my own video game or just relax on my phone reading reddit posts. It irritates me that he won't let me sit in silence on my phone while he plays games when I've said to him " I'm just going to sit quietly on my phone, you enjoy your game".

He will constantly ask my opinion of things in the game, ask me for advice or tell me to look at something quickly. I'm usually fine with this but sometimes I just want to "exist" around him without talking. He is a very sweet and sensitive person, so I don't know how to tell him this without him taking it personally. And if I don't tell him, I'm sure I will explode one day and say something I regret, which I really don't want to do.

Also.

Ps: I'm autistic.
