There was some discussion of this on Reddit, more than once, but I don’t want to log in there to dig up discussions, so…

Can anyone here recommend an electrolyte mix or tablet that you’ve used to better assist muscle recovery after intense activity? For me it’s usually hiking, and I do get pretty intense muscle soreness for a day or two after.

If you sweat all your electrolytes out, you can add a half teaspoon of salt to 16 oz water and imbibe. Don't repeat.

For proper recovery, you'll want some actual nutrition and rest as well.

this may get downvoted (and I understand) but...

I tend to perfom 1 to 2 hour intense activity best while (mostly) fasted. so, if fasted, about 15 minutes before something strenuous, its BCAAs with an electrolyte blend of sodium citrate, potassium chloride, sodium chloride. extra party bonus if it contains L-Citrulline Malate.

edit: specific to your question, I find that the BCAAs and Citrulline Malate help with muscle fatigue and after stress recovery and electrolytes are what plants crave.
