I've (M25) been told to never approach women in bars, grocery stores, concerts, workplaces, you name it.
Just to be clear, I understand that every person is different and not everyone hates to be approached, and I don't have any creepy or sexual intentions. Just trying to have a conversation and maybe flirt if it goes well. I also understand that if it's not going well to take a hint and leave a lady alone. But I've seen lots of women post some variation of "don't talk to women you don't know in public". I'm just scratching my head at how people my age are supposed to meet and get to know one another if guys aren't supposed to approach women at most places that used to be acceptable for that.
I'm personally sick of using dating apps, so what kind of places or establishments is it acceptable to try and talk to single women?
