Maybe it's just an effect of the echo chambers that exist in various social media spaces, but lately it seems that whenever I see "freedom" in a title or a tag, there's going to be some pretty wild shit.

What happened? I always thought of freedom along the lines of "free as a bird", or being happy doing your own thing, or maybe being a little eccentric. Over the past few years it looks like it's been taken to mean "I will do what I want or I will kill you", or "rules for thee but not me".

Maybe it's just me, but WTF just happened? How did freedom come to mean extreme selfishness, with violent undertones?

Maybe I just need to get the hell off Instagram 🤔
