I am in no way trying to be disrespectful, I simply want to be able to understand this matter better.
A few years ago, everyone I have ever heard saying they are trans underwent hormone therapy and gender reassignment surgery. If someone was still on hormone therapy, they would say that they are in the process of transitioning but wouldn’t actually say they are trans.
Nowadays I notice that there are more and more people stating they are trans without even starting hormone therapy. I understand there is a difference between psychology versus physically transitioning, but back in the day being trans meant you have finished the entire process and transitioning meant you were still in the process, and that there was a diference between identifying yourself as the opposite gender (which is psychological) and the actual transition (which was physical).
