Mabuhay at maligayang pagdating sa Lemmy! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

A fediverse community for the Philippines and all things Filipino!

Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

What Life Changing Item Can You Buy for Less Than 1000php? 5000php? 10,000php?

I'll start

  1. 2nd Monitor (WFH setup), I bought mine used in Gilmore at around 2k php. Mas-productive iyong setup kasi pwedeng may meeting sa isang monitor tapos work sa isa pa, and etc.

  2. Range Hood, bought at SM Appliance Store for total 7k php (with installation).

  • 3 security keys, around โ‚ฑ1200/each for my family. With current tech climate, my family don't rely on typing passwords anymore. I have one personally na nasa cabinet ko lang nilagay. Passwordless is the future. I still maintain my family's Google credentials on my Bitwarden vault.

  • Anker Nano II 65W charger and their 1.8m USB-C vice versa cable (PHP2,500, binili nung nag-sale). I can charge my laptop (60W charging) and smartphone (does only carry 33W charging) within an hour. Aside from its performance, madali lang dalhin at iisa lang iniisip kong charger -- ito lang. Haha

VPN. Paid $60 for a 38-month subscription during the pandemic just as an experiment to check if it's effective against geoblocking. Not only is it great for that, but I (as well as other family members) use it a lot for work.

With the rising LPG price, I'm thinking maybe a ceramic infrared stove. Added it to cart for 9.9.

If you're looking to get out of gas, an Induction stove is better. Because of its efficiency, it uses less energy (electricity) to heat up the same thing. Essentially it'd be cheaper in the long run vs gas vs infrared vs electric coils.

@counselwolf chromecast with googleTV, mga around 2k sa lasada. Meron kasi alternative apps for youtube with no ads and apps na parang netfilx pero mas mura subscription (less 1k per yr)

@counselwolf sa MovieBoxPro, you need invite code para maka-login as a Free user. I can send you a code for free, you can watch na pero low quality lang. If you want HD quality, you need to purchase VIP sa website nila for $23 USD. Buy on your own risk. You also need VIP to watch it on your android TV.
