My dad thinks I'm stupid for doomsday prepping. I don't prep for zombies or nukes. I prep for natural disasters and my dad always tells me nothing will ever happen. I always ask him in response that nobody was ready for the great depression, nobody was ready for the 2008 market crash. He asked me how much I waste on prepping, and I don't see it as a waste. I have probably 25 cans of food and 10 pounds of rice just in case the food trucks stop rolling. I have ways to make fire and shelter just in case my apartment has a fire and I have to leave. I know it's unrealistic to prep for zombies or full out war but I think my dad thinks I'm an idiot for trying to cover my ass now while I have money, than wait for inflation and natural disasters to cripple society. He doesn't say it like that or else he might understand where I'm coming from.
Am I the fool for trying to ensure I have food and water and shelter while I have money, or is he the fool for calling me out when he is right, I have never lived through a natural disaster but I personally think it's smart to have a bag full of food, water, shelter, and a way to make fire just chilling next to my nearest exit
