It seems like the older I got, the more I needed more stimulation as a baseline to feel okay. I used to be content with just my computer games, but now I can be on the ps4 while scrolling on instagram while also having an auto-playing game on my ipad, and still feel bored. Work feels unbearable because there’s nothing to do other than stare at boring screens for less than a living wage. After dealing with my boring job, I come home and am hit with a wave of boredom because literally everything that I’ve been doing for years doesn’t stimulate me, yet I need the same level of stimulation to be okay. Smoking used to dampen that feeling, but I wont be able to smoke for a while- thus making this entire ordeal worse. Looking online, they just say corny shit like “meditate” and “daydream” but that’s something you have to ease into, you cant just go from being a dopamine jumkie to buddha in a few hours, not even a few days or weeks.
