Youtube verwendet neuen Link-Parameter beim teilen von Videos (feddit.de)

Youtube verwendet seit kurzem den "?si=" Parameter wenn man ein Video teilt. Ich hab das "teilen" Feature bis jetzt als Link-Shortener verwendet, das hat sich jetzt erübrigt weil der "Short"-Link länger ist als die eigentliche URL.

Außerdem ärgerlich: z.B. bei Whatsapp wird mit dem neuen Parameter das Thumbnail nicht mehr geladen.

In einem Reddit-Post wird gemutmaßt, dass "si" für Source Identifier steht und dem Tracking dient.

Man kann den kompletten Parameter entfernen und der Link funktioniert genauso gut, aber einfach die normale URL zu kopieren geht schneller und sie ist kürzer, also werd ich ab jetzt das "teilen" Feature nicht mehr verwenden.

Works for me in the URL bar but not in the "share" window. Maybe because the URL input field in the "share" window is readonly?

Spotify verwendet genau das gleiche Schema. Da kürze ich schon lange den Parameter einfach weg. Ist nervig, aber geht irgendwie.

Wenn das so ein Tracking-Parameter ist gibt es da wahrscheinlich auch Anti-Tracking Browser Extensions die das automatisch entfernen. Also sofern die schon aktualisiert sind dafür.

Bonuspunkt: Plötzlich interessieren sich deine Freunde für Tracker und du kannst ihnen erklären, wieso sowas in der URL ist

Einfach die Adresszeile des Videos ausm Browser kopieren. Problem gelöst.

CTRL+L, CTRL+C

doch viel komfortabler als die Maus in die Hand zu nehmen und einen Teilenbutton anzuklicken.

In firefox mobile kann man die url teilen, indem man rechts der addresszeile das menu aufmacht und dort das "teilen" menu anklickt.

Den WhatsApp bug kann ich nicht bestätigen.

YouTube ist ja nicht der erste Anbieter, ich habe mir auch schon bei anderen angewöhnt, alle Suffixe wegzulöschen. Unter anderem, um in Foren Anonymität zu wahren.
