Add RSS feeds to any Lemmy community (ponder.cat)

Hi everyone.

I enabled the bot to add RSS feeds to any community. What you need to do is message the bot:

/add $rss_url $community@$instance - Add a new RSS feed
/delete $rss_url $community@$instance - Unlink an existing RSS feed from the community
/list $community@$instance - List all feeds for a community
/help - Show this help message

For example:

/add https://hackaday.com/blog/feed/ [email protected]

I'm still testing out the command interface but I poked at it a little bit, and it worked a little bit. Try it out, let me know what you think, and if it gives you any trouble reach out to me.

You need to be a moderator of the community in order to subscribe to feeds within that community.

Excellent tool. Auto-posting new articles saves time and effort from going toward tedious repetitive tasks — exactly what technology should do!

Just a heads-up, this post (because it originates from ponder.cat, not rss.ponder.cat), doesn't federate with the same instances that rss.ponder.cat federates from. Probably a good idea to have this post originate from the [email protected] account.

I don't plan to make any extra effort to cater to instances that want to defederate from ponder.cat or block me personally. As far as I can see, that's the only situation where it would make a difference whether something was posted from ponder.cat or rss.ponder.cat.
