Tbh I find something about single purpose built tech very endearing. It reminds me of late 20th century futurism (e.g. Ender's game) where things like books were still individual objects, just digital/electronic, whereas the real books of the future (our present day books) are just files to be loaded onto a device, hundreds of which can be stored on the same one
Imagine spending all day at work daydreaming about leaving work to play video games and then finally coming home after a long day just to put on Adventure for Atari 2600
Is this an emulator or fgpa? Although it's kinda cool, I've never been able to enjoy 2600 games. They were only enjoyable for short periods of time at best.
It can play your old cartridge games with it.
Nintendo does this shit and has for years.
