People are literally dropping dead in a climate change driven 48C heat wave in India, and right wing people are wondering how many libs they will trigger with their I heart oil bumper stickers.

Rolling coal in their emotional support trucks will give them cancer, too. And more prolonged exposure relative to the amount subjected to the rest of us, "to own the libs."

Shoots dog

Marries off child to 40-year-old

Bullies trans kid to suicide

Commits hate crime

Marches in the street chanting Nazi slogans

"Oh I'm sorry LIBERAL, does my extremely NORMAL behavior TRIGGER you???"

"Humor"

The others don't laugh along because they find the jokes funny, they just do it to show approval and encouragement of saying slurs or degrading women or whatever

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

"Humor" is how the body copes with getting unexpected information. A crafted joke sets up an expectation, then subverts it. Every joke is essentially that. Have you ever heard a conservative "joke" where you didn't see the punchline coming from a mile away. That's why they only have "one joke" for every topic.

They laugh because they aren't used to things that don't fit their ridged norms. "Trans person funny because they shouldn't exist lol" 🤪

"My pronouns are 'he/he'.

Because I identify as a comedian."

"Transgender people... aren't what they used to be."

- Jimmy Carr

It's like you can tell jokes without being a transphobe

[–] [email protected] 31 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, there's a big difference between

A) telling jokes that make light of a somewhat touchy or controversial subject, which people like Jimmy Carr and Anthony Jeselnik are masters of and

B) telling jokes about how persecuted minorities are insane and should not be "indulged" in their "delusion" like Babylon Bee and every unfunny far right bigot do.

In case you couldn't tell, I'm a huge fan of A when done well and absolutely deplore B..

Though, maybe he should be dialing back the "let's murder all Roma people" jokes.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Who should? I've seen most of the shows of both of the comedians I mentioned and at no point has either advocated murdering a single Roma person, let alone all. I think you might be imagining things.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

I’m referring to Jimmy Carr who had articles written about how him saying the Roma people being killed in the holocaust was a good thing. But also, almost every time I have seen him in a show, he’s punching down towards the Roma people specifically.

Michael Jackson was not a regressive.

My pronouns are her/she because I'm an unhealthy snack ~and the product of imperialism in Latin America~

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 year ago

The other 10% is bragging about how strong their unhealthy behavior makes then.

Left wing memes: [giant wall of text explaining an entire situation]
Right wing memes: [literal racism]

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 year ago

The answer is: no. It doesn't "trigger" me. You're not important enough to me to "trigger" me. I just think you're a piece of shit.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Last time right wing humor was funny was the first half of Team America.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I always looked at Team America as a satire of right wing thought. Basically the Bush worldview taken to comical extremes.

I know Parker and Stone are lolbertarians, but they managed to actually skewer the right pretty well back in the day.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Best evidence is in America (Fuck Yea), democrats get the normal "Fuck yea!" response while Republicans get only like 2 or 3 guys saying "Fuck yea". They know what they're about.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

There's libertarians, and then there's libertarians. A good portion can't really be considered right wing, or at least not the same right wing. Being not in favor of most communist/socialist philosophy doesn't automatically make you in favor of conservatism or fascism, and neither of those are the same either.

Reminds me of this shirt I don’t care if your feelings are offended.
And I’m like… okay but why are you such an asshole person that you don’t care? If you were a decent human being, you wouldn’t just want to just hurt someone’s feelings, that’s just… being an asshole.

Gods, I love him. His trolling is so on point and he's always a delight to watch and listen to.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Isn't this true for pretty much all political humor?
