For context, this is an SBIR call for proposals. This is the government's way of getting funds to small and experimental businesses to help them develop their technology. It often goes to highly specialized technologies that are needed, but too niche to get the attention of venture capitalists.
All jokes about hallucinations aside, developments with a goal like this, could encourage AI's that are better able "sniff tests" their own conclusions before outputing the results. People don't seem to get that chatGPT is very probably NOT representative of all conversational AI's that will exist in the future.
