MODERATORS

They are cringe.

And I know cringe (source: I am cringe)

Anyway, Lemmy turning into Reddit would be bad.

That's what .world is for - it's a containment instance that is slowly defederating from everyone else. Soon the ledditors will have their own little walled garden where they can narwal the bacon at midnight or whatever the fuck ๐Ÿ˜’

Literally everyone on this site is a Redditor and it's funny how y'all try so desperately to claim otherwise. "no, no I'M NOT A REDDITOR" angry-hex

[โ€“] [email protected] 33 points 1 year ago

I used to be a redditor, but I got better. exactly the same as how I was a dirty channer, but I got better. ๐Ÿ’…

[โ€“] [email protected] 22 points 1 year ago

i'm not. tried to be, but they kept banning me for being too cool.

Kill the redditor, save the man.

I think lemmy having libs is beneficial to us, because they are systemically in an uphill position in an instance mainly moderated by communists. The real engine of bad takes are from the "mutuals" we have with lemmy like .world and co. I think strategically the best option is to go after instances that aren't federated with us rather than those that are. I don't think there's any benefit to letting red scare instances fester, and r/cth demonstrated how easy it is to cow rightists.

What I think is fascinating is the handful of people posting leftist memes to .world. Feels like lemmy has a critical mass of leftists that even when you try to make an extremely liberal space it still spills in

[โ€“] [email protected] 21 points 1 year ago

The question then, I suppose, is how many of those leftists are like us and how many are "Compatible Leftists" that are fundamentally non-threatening to liberals. Liberals typically love Chomsky types that let them feel like they engage in radical discourse while fundamentally failing to challenge power.

I've been saying this.

Purge Reddit users. Execute Reddit mods.

No you weren't.

I miss the 2 or 3 actually good subs on reddit. r/tipofmytongue was a great community, as was r/Stunfisk. But like, the handful of other good subs went private and then the company pushed more of the fasc subs, even though I blocked those multiple times over.

Oh look, an unpopular group is jealously trying to pretend it's any different from the more popular group!

That you have no idea how to get under our skin is probably the most unintentionally funny thing about this comment.
