Vaporents
Welcome to C/Vaporents! This is the place to discuss your dry herb vaporizer, share gear shots, and get support from the community.
This is a general community for all vaporizers. Vapcaps, electric portables, desktops, PID powered injection ball vapes, or some artisan experimental one of a kind.
Beginners and those speculating the hobby are encouraged to make post asking questions.
Feel free to share deals to your favorite gear going on throughout the year so newbies can get a heads up.
I left vaporents back during the boycott. Now I'm here to dispense knowledge for novice users.
I actually see a lot of vaporizer posts in the /m/trees group which makes me happy haha
But yeah I'd love to see more ents on vaporents. Maybe some day!
I'm not too active on here, but I'll comment when I see something pop up. Like you r/vaporents kept me from burning through too much money at the beginning of my journey. I only bought one novelty vape, fortunately. Fucking shit garbage bubbler thing looked neat. Never worked right once. But the recommendations of the subreddit steered me to the Firefly and the Firewood and those have kept me happy and healthy.
I'm thinking there's an inverse relationship between the size of the userbase for a social media platform, and the level of specialization of the communities. The Old Place, having millions of users, had lots of little specialized communities - r/trees, r/vaporents, r/oilpen, r/dynavap, etc.
Here on Lemmy, the userbase is smaller, so there's not enough activity on super-specialized communities, so people hang out in c/trees mostly - less specialized, but more users that way.
I completely agree with you! It’s been hard to watch as the conversion to Lemmy/Fediverse hasn’t been as swift as I had hoped. Reddit really fucked up and I would love to see them tank. Hopefully more and more people will find their way over! I’m just glad to see more and more of my favorites here.
I did find an iOS app that has changed my Lemmy experience called Memmy. Hope it helps!
