I have been a desktop user of Firefox since one of it's very early versions, but it feels like I am going to have to make the move to Chrome. The two critical things that are forcing the switch:

  1. All Google sites feel impaired. Running a Google search in the address bar works less than half the time. Open Google Calendar and it often doesn't load, including clicking a Google Meet link to connect (making for stressful starts to meetings). Clicking a search result from Google often doesn't load, so have to hit back and try multiple times. I have tried about every fix I can find online for it including changing settings (e.g. 0rt), browser removal and reinstall, and it followed me between devices. I worry that it's Google causing the compatibility issues. I don't have any issues with any other platforms or sites. I have been putting up with this issue for at least 1-2 years, through many versions.
  2. Despite all the hassle of refreshing the browser to get Google products working, the final nail in the coffin was Firefox breaking its support for Ledger.

I hope someone can give me hope that Firefox is worth keeping, but I think I'm done.

Does anyone else experience issues with Google products in Firefox or am I being targeted for conversion? ๐Ÿ˜†

I avoid google like the plague and tbh I'm not even sure what ledger is so firefox's broken support for it is likely to be trivial to me personally as is the google site issues. Also I use librewolf which is based on firefox but idk if that makes a difference.

However, I will say, I wouldn't be caught dead using chrome with all this "DRM the entire internet ~~so we can force ads down your throat~~ I mean for security and also some of those ads have ransomware which your adblocker totally would have protected you against had we not disabled it for 'security'" bullshit. Google is actively hostile, and currently trying to kill the open internet, I can't bring myself to be part of that, even if that just means subjecting myself to their bullshit.
