Whenever I see complex haircuts such as the one on the top I always wonder how people maintain it. What do you do each morning when you wake up? How do you ensure that the air always has the same shape and what do you do if it grows even a little bit (destroying the contrast and "fade")?

It's a shorter version of the same thing Zack Morris has with a part cut. My kid cuts his hair like this but likes his hair long. The part is normally on a natural part in his hair so it just grows out and he brushes it.
