It's the dunk tank.

This is where you come to post big-brained hot takes by chuds, libs, or even fellow leftists, and tear them to itty-bitty pieces with precision dunkstrikes.

Rule 1: All posts must include links to the subject matter, and no identifying information should be redacted.

Rule 2: If your source is a reactionary website, please use archive.is instead of linking directly.

Rule 3: No sectarianism.

Rule 4: TERF/SWERFs Not Welcome

Rule 5: No ableism of any kind (that includes stuff like libt*rd)

Rule 6: Do not post fellow hexbears.

Rule 7: Do not individually target other instances' admins or moderators.

Rule 8: The subject of a post cannot be low hanging fruit, that is comments/posts made by a private person that have low amount of upvotes/likes/views. Comments/Posts made on other instances that are accessible from hexbear are an exception to this. Posts that do not meet this requirement can be posted to [email protected]

Rule 9: if you post ironic rage bait im going to make a personal visit to your house to make sure you never make this mistake again

lol, wait till they find out how many anti-china NYT articles are written by people that are published by the Epoch Times. That'll be an issue for them, right? anakin-padme-2

Is there somewhere I can read more about the overlap on authors? That's nuts I'd never heard of that before.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 years ago

Not that I'm aware of. It's just something I've run across because I'm a nerd about Manufacturing Consent and often Google the authors of warmongering pieces to see their background.

If you're interested in the topic in general, you'll probably find this interview interesting.

"knowing Russians" - how many Russians do we think this person actually knows?

[–] [email protected] 47 points 2 years ago (1 children)

90% of the time when someone says "knowing Russians..." or "knowing China..." they just mean "being well versed in all manner of racial stereotypes..."

I have watched every episode of family guy

  1. Boris Badenov from the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons
  2. Natasha Fatale, also from Rocky and Bullwinkle
  3. ???

Yakov Smirnoff, but not on purpose.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 years ago

lol, I think my memories have combined Yakov Smirnof and Borat into a single cronenberg-esque almalgam.

Maybe Susan Ivanova is too niche a reference.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 years ago

She's a Jewish bi icon, so libs automatically erase her

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 years ago

You forgot the Fearless Leader.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 2 years ago

Vladimir Putin (basically Voldemort)

Joseph Stalin (2nd villain of WW2, arguably worse than the first)

Vladimir Lenin (Not sure what he did but he killed millions)

Listen kiddo, I've watched enough James Bond and Marvel to know that RuZZians are not to be trusted. Slava Ukraini! shrug-outta-hecks

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 years ago

they watched a movie about it

yes it was 'triumph of the will', why do you ask

I thought we settled on Blue MAGA

Clearly the fact that the NYT doesn’t have a “Russians need not apply” policy means they’re in the pocket of the Kremlin.

What's this anti-Ukrainian stuff at the NYT?

[–] [email protected] 48 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I think it's referring to a string of recent NYT articles basically admitting Ukraine is losing

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 years ago

Well at least Russia isn't winning as well 🤷

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

This twitter user is particularly unhinged if these articles constitute 'pro Russian' lmao

Some headlines for articles by Constant Meheut:

Russia Pounds Ukrainian City Ahead of New Year, as Putin Tries to Project Normalcy

Ukrainian Missile Attack on a Russian City Kills at Least 22, Officials Say

How a Russian Barrage Evaded Ukraine’s Defenses to Wreak Deadly Chaos

Russia Retakes Some Land Hard Won by Ukraine During Counteroffensive

Ukraine Hits Major Russian Warship, but Loses Ground in the East

Ukraine Says It Downed 5 Russian Planes, as Moscow Claims It Seized a Town

Just recent headlines for articles written, not me just cherry picking lmao

I don't even know which of these are 'pro Russian'...maybe the 2nd ('anti Ukraine' for daring to insinuate 'the good guys' kill innocent people?) and 3rd?

[–] [email protected] 21 points 2 years ago

Seeing this I’m wondering how much the Moscow Times’ distribution got hurt in all this considering it’s very much a foreign-run, pro-western paper.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 years ago

I'm fully supportive of libs alienating Russian bootlickers.
