I mean, purposefully making your animal unhealthy “for the chonk?” Yeah, that would be animal abuse. Because thats not done by feeding your cat a healthy diet. It’s done by feeding them terrible food, constantly. Until their bodies can’t function properly.

Cute-ifying unhealthy animals isnt animal abuse, but it shouldn’t be just laughed at and walked away from. We should point out, “hey, what you’re doing is wrong for your cat/dog. They are probably in pain and feeling unwell all the time. You should change that because you are the only person with that power.”

Cats are unique in that they will usually eat until their dietary needs are met. So when their food is unhealthy bullshit, the amount it takes for them to feel sated leaves them grossly unhealthy.
