People squished together in substandard housing have only themselves to blame if they can neither enjoy the comfort of music and companionship nor sleep soundly. They should simply purchase large ranch-style homes in the exurbs, where the luxury of space affords them both privacy and social opportunity.

I do not understand the poors. Why do they not simply purchase a mansion so that they do not have to listen to the sound of their neighbours?
