Will try to think of some achievement I could claim in the nearish future to justify buying myself a playdate. I do think low-power mobile form factor games are the future (but somehow not phone games? maybe it's just my aversion to spending more time on my phone)

The playdate is so stupid. I thought it had that non-backlit B&W screen and the crank as a way to be portably rechargeable by using the crank regenerate the battery and games encourage or demand usage of the crank, but it's just a fucking regular piece of shit portable computer with a crank. Stupid.

It's wildly overpriced bazingabrained hipster garbage like everything from teenage engineering. A non backlit screen in current century is just absurd and the crank mostly functions to keep all the software from being conveniently usable on general purpose devices people already have.

Eh I like the idea but also I'm a big believer that the future of gaming, artistically at least, is low-budget innovative stuff running on low-powered handhelds.
