1. I like being vindicated as a Marxist. Right mode of analysis, right answers to the problems, right framework to act if climate change opposition reaches the level of radicalism needed. It feels like A Canticle for Leibowitz as the bomb is dropping.

2. I like watching collapse theory. Complex systems failing is interesting. Growing up I always liked reading about periods like the Black Death but I had a really impartial understanding of the sociopolitics and mass psychology of a pandemic.

Otherwise, I don't like that I can't live out the simple and nonviolent life that I intended to. All I wanted was to homestead, rescue animals, and work in anthropology or ecology. They're all threatened by collapse. My politics would otherwise be a peaceful thing I mainly apply to art theory and naturalism.
