That's how it goes. We've never adopted from a shelter and still managed to collect 6 cats. 2 rehomes and 4 foundlings.

My previous cat came with my house. She was a TNR'd feral cat that hung out on our front porch and was the friendliest cat I've ever met. We decided to let her inside one cold night and she never even tried to go back out the door.
