Not really, no. The whole thing started with the Balfour declaration.
Israel had taken land before that. I heard they legitimately bought only 7% of it.
Then there is the issue of whether Jews were driven out by racists thousands of years ago or they left of their own accord.
Not really AFAIK? There were Aliyahs before then, but Zionism only gained steam when they got the support of the British with the Balfour declaration. That also marks the start of relations souring between Jews and Arabs.
Well if either of us confirms one way or another let's try to remember to inform each other. There are not many of us who are genuinely trying to understand it all (Lemmy is much better than Reddit).
