micromobility - Bikes, scooters, boards: Whatever floats your goat, this is micromobility
Ebikes, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, longboards, eboards, motorcycles, skates, unicycles, heelies, or an office chair: Whatever floats your goat, this is all things micromobility!
"Transportation using lightweight vehicles such as bicycles or scooters, especially electric ones that may be borrowed as part of a self-service rental program in which people rent vehicles for short-term use within a town or city.
micromobility is seen as a potential solution to moving people more efficiently around cities"

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:
Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.
Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.
Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.

The specs for the "street" version make no sense. Why limit the top speed so much, but still expect people to put a license plate on it? I don't see any pedals; do they honestly think anyone is going to be fooled into treating this as a bicycle?
The swappable batteries are a good idea. But otherwise, the city scooter these guys already made has a more realistic top speed for not getting you killed on the road.
In the EU, 45km/h are mopeds or scooter and they don't need a license plate (not sure if all of EU), but only an insurance. Also kids can ride those from the age of 15 or 16. So it seems to be a proper motorcycle looking scooter replacement for teens.
I see. Well, that might be good for that particular application... but then the article implies they're only planning to release this in the US. I'm still stumped. Without pedals on it, I don't think many states would be prepared to treat it as anything other than a capital-M Motorcycle.
I think a wider cross-section of people here would prefer to at least have the option of the road-legal version with the higher top speed. (Maybe it can be hacked to accomplish this. Who knows.)
