People with ADHD don't get enough dopamine, which can make it hard for them to focus on important things. So to compensate, they engage in hyperactive/impulsive behaviors.

The problem arises when there is something important that needs to be done (such as schoolwork or chores) and ADHDers don't want to do them because it doesn't provide an instant dopamine release.

Yeah tbh I don't know what I was thinking with that second part of the post. But it was more about the quote not adhd...
