The praising of the undoing of the reforms is logically consistent with the praising of the reforms themselves within dengism. I'm not a buff on dengism, but basically: You need to develop industrial capacity in order to develop socialism. When you're surrounded by capitalists that want to starve any socialist experiment, you need to utilise those capitalists - If you don't they will starve you for all that you need to develop, and sabotage you in other ways. So you draw them in, while never giving them the reins to power, so that when they have placed their factories and taught your people, you can then kick them out.
