Or maybe I just don't feel like being helpful to someone who chose to introduce themselves to me by mocking me. I'm not sure why you find the idea so hard to believe that intelligent creatures sometimes mindlessly repeat patterns of behavior without realizing that they're achieving nothing, but I love the fact that the irony is completely lost on you that your repeated mockery is providing an example of it.
if you have resources that could illustrate how human intelligence is reducible to pattern recognition you could really make me look like a fool.
imagine how stupid i'd look if you also tied it into human nature, a concept that's hotly debated in philosophy, let alone science and engineering.
