I just finished the original gundam series. Is SEED based in UC and when is it based if you don’t mind me asking a dumb question

SEED is its own continuity, but from what I understand (I haven't seen it myself) it draws heavily from the storylines of the first few UC shows.

SEED is it’s own timeline, but it was intended as an introduction to new comers to the Gundam franchise so the themes and character archetypes in it are really similar. It can get a bit…same-y if you’re just coming off of the UC shows.
