Pretty misleading headline - yet not false. From the article:

A pedestrian crossing a San Francisco street on Monday night was hospitalized in critical condition after she was hit by two cars — first a regular vehicle which hurled her into the path of a driverless taxi

The driver fled the scene that hit the woman at the pedestrian crossing. Due to the impact, she landed right in front of a (driverless) vehicle on the other lane.

The headline literally describes exactly what happened.

The Cruise parked on top of her.
