This is what putting people in a pressure cooker of $8/hr minimum wage, state violence and $1500/mo rents yields.

Also, whatever you think of this action (I happen to be against it because it's illegal.), acknowledge that mobilizing this many people is the result of invisible forms of organizing, not neccesarily legible to the "left" whose traditions cross-polinate with the professionalized activism of ngos, labor unions and political parties.

It's just a shame that it was expressed this way. We need major social democratic reforms and avenues for disenfranchised people to exercise political power so these kinds of desperate actions don't disrupt our lives.

The provocative title is a way to call attention to the ways that overseas reporting and domestic reporting on social conflict differ. A detournament of imperialist propaganda if you will.

While I'm of the view that "hell yeah this rocks". I would remiss to point out that this isn't really a militant action. When George Floyd was killed, looters and militants not only broke into target and looted it, but also distributed their gains to the rest of the community. You also have individuals livestreaming (incriminating yourself and hundreds other) for the gram, for views and likes. Militant action should be planned, with no way to collect geofenced data of your wherabouts.

If you wanna be communist and a "criminal" become a smarter criminal. Otherwise, there's legit no point. The state should have a hard time finding you and bringing you to court. Don't give them an easy win by getting caught and your mugshot taken.

ya smash and grabbing for yoga joggers and social media clout doesn't really strike me as a solidaristic project, tbqh, and it's only going to make things harder for everyone in philly.

Don’t blame looters for the tightening noose of police state violence. That responsibility lies only with the system carrying it out.

Don’t perpetuate pig narratives of blame.
