I HATE THIS SO MUCH!! Also, how many people plan something like a camping trip that far in advance? You have to book those sites like 6 months to a year before you plan to go. Sometimes I just want to take a spontaneous weekend trip somewhere. And if there are days left on the calendar, people may not have the flexibility to even take those days off work to get out there.
If you're pretty physically active, though, hiker biker campsites are where it's at
I believe all if not most campsites have them; if you hike or bike in they are first come first serve and the ones I went to this summer were absolutely gorgeous. The trip I did was definitely one of the more challenging bike rides I've taken but it was super worth it
