General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both [email protected] and [email protected] .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I look forward to the G20 Zoom summit....

No one is advocating for him to travel by train and road across the world, just when it's reasonable to do so domestically.

And if it's not worth the hassle it takes to get there, maybe it could be fine over the internet instead.

Maybe I misjudged the tone but it seems people are happy to travel large distances by plane helicopter only when those large distances are abroad. Why not when they are domestic too?

I take your point about over the internet meetings but in the world of politics where human interaction is key i think it is worth the hassle to travel. That being said.... maybe I'll wake up in a world where G20 is done over Zoom. What a world....

"And can we have the view of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom please... Oh!"

"Erm, I am the Prime Minister, I'm not a cat"

The cat would do a better job.
