Goddammit I thought I was gonna just scroll through Wikipedia to come up with some random bizarre historical claim about this peaceful little island, like saying we should re-establish Genoa and return it to them, but now you've got me actually going down a rabbit hole investigating the history of the FLNC.

I had no idea there was such a spicy group over there, or that there was even any conflict.

Give it to Niger as part of reparations. Aim some missiles at France and get Europe to stop fucking with Africa. Create the African Union and have some Soviet/Chinese-style turnaround.

Now Niger is getting Mayotte, Clipperton, Guiana, Polynesia, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Caledonia, Réunion, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Martin, Saint Pierre and Miquelon and Wallis and Futuna. Keep pushing and they're getting more islands.
