I mean I don't usually like to call myself a leftist because it doesn't really mean anything. A leftist could be some random socdem or it could be a revolutionary socialist, and those aren't the same and shouldn't be treated as such

Fair enough. I usually use no em-dashes and just say Marxist, which obviously carries its own ambiguities but I don't really think I align strongly enough with a specific tendency to adopt that as a label.
