This feels like another one of those funny jokes that someone will come along and ruin by telling me he's serious.

This does not seem feasible and isn't passive income at all because he's actively doing stuff to make it happen.

I could believe someone might call it "passive" in their head (they're not actively selling the thing, I suppose). Because having "passive income" seems to be a kind of status symbol for some people.
