On Anime

While Anime is a beloved animation style with a rich history and extensive following, our focus here leans towards other forms of animation. This is due to the immense popularity of Anime in online spaces, which is amply covered by other dedicated communities.

This doesn't mean that Anime related conversation is not allowed here, only that it's not our focus. For a dedicated Anime instance, check out ani.social.

On Technical Discussion

While our primary goal is to discuss animated media, conversations about animation techniques and the process of creating animation are also welcome. Whether you're a budding animator seeking to understand more about the industry, or a seasoned professional sharing your experiences, you're welcome here.

  • I'm watching Fangbone!, the animation is solid, the characters funny and fun to watch. There is something about these Canadian cartoons that hits the spot for me. While this may sound stupid, you can sometimes tell, as they have that Canadian vibe. It's available on youtube, search for it, find it, watch it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGOtOjIAFXc

  • Another one is G.I. Joe: Renegades, while it can be boring at times, it's a cartoon that I used to watch when I was a kid. It's also it's available on youtube.

G. I. Joe rant ahead.

spoilerIf you watched the show, there is a description of characters in the description of each episode, I don't know if any of these descriptions were mentioned in the show though. So in that description, it mentions that Lieutenant O'Hara is this genius that is so smart, they had to invent new charts to quantify her intelligence. Yet in almost any scenario where planning is required, O'Hara spouts the stupidest thing ever, to which Duke responds with something actually smart. Even if you don't count that youtube description as canon, she is still regarded in the show as very smart, planning ahead, been on Cobra's tail for a long time. As I'm finishing season 1, I still see O'Hara saying some incoherent nonsensical shit, I feel like she has been written pretty badly.

I mean Duke is the leader, tunnel rat is like a scout, roadblock is tough, Snake Eyes is silent, what is Scarlet supposed to be? If she gets most of her intel from her broker, why not cut Scarlet and let duke talk to the broker? What is her purpose, apart from being the only woman in the team?

Also for the longest time I thought G.I Joe was a plot by the army to get more kids to sign up.

A lot of cartoon series are available on youtube, I have a list that contains a list of cartoons that are available on youtube. the time period is like 2000 - 2010s.
