Associating with DOGE only links the party more to Trump
I agree. But is it possible that Musk would want that kind of association to pilfer as many gullible MAGA as possible? I think it is -- but I dunno. I don't think many people left of center would support Musk's party, so in my mind, Musk is clearly aiming for the center to extreme right for support, and to influence republican politicians already in office. Basing that on his threats to primary every republican who voted for the bill.
Yes, I think he wants to soak up the MAGAs he can. Carving out the middle is nice and all in terms of becoming a majority party, but if he can just get a senate seat or two he can potentially decide every senate vote which can be enough to get what he wants even without gaining a majority of support.
